We believe that professionals are in the best position to work with their clients when they are equipped with up to date knowledge, a broad range of skills, and personal wellness goals to offer a strong and supportive presence with their clients..
Monique offers classes as an Adjunct Faculty of Portland State University and as a Community Trainer with the Oregon Registry. As a professional educator, Monique brings over 20 years of experience working in public, private and alternative educational settings with preschool, elementary, middle school and mulit-age homeschool classrooms to her training programs. Monique holds a dual Masters Degree in Education and Teaching Through the Arts from Lesley University, and has many years of experience working with children with special needs. Monique is currently enrolled in a PhD program in Psychology with a specialty in Creativity.
Teacher Training and Continuing Education
Creative Roots offers both in-person or interactive online training series for educators, tutors, instructors and coaches. Training sessions are offered at schools for inservice trainings and also at Creative Roots. Explore and learn about developing the roots of connection with clients, students and their families. Learn how use creativity and the science of neurobiology to inspire strong relationships which support kids and families to become life long, wholehearted learners and leaders. Consultation Services
Consultation services for professionals working with children and families, includes recommendations for academic success, social skills support, executive functioning support, yoga for sensory integration, alternative educational supports for students who may not succeed with traditional programs, support for parents, learning style assessments, informal academic assessment, 1:1 tutoring for kids and teens, and 1:1 coaching for teens and parents.
Mentoring for Educators and Coaches
In-person and online mentoring for educators and coaches. Ignite your creativity and learn new ways to work with kids and families, while rejuvenating yourself and your work. Learn how to integrate Somatics, Interpersonal Neurobiology and Creativity into your work. Monique is available for workshops, 1:1 mentoring, and online support.
Yoga Classes for Professionals
Sign up for a class or private sessions at Creative Roots, or sponsor an individual class or on-going series at your school. PTAs may choose to sponsor a class or program for staff. Face to Face Discussion Groups
Read our newly published book, Face to Face: Cultivating Kids’ Social Lives in Today’s Digital World, and come together to discuss how we can cultivate empathy and foster resilience in our children and communities. Face to Face offers current information about social issues facing our kids today, as well as touchstones to consider as you support the children in your lives. Each discussion group will meet for 8 sessions to discuss each chapter. These groups are excellent ways to learn more about current issues and create supportive communities.
