Individual Coaching
Creative Roots offers several individualized options for supporting teens. Individualized program are developed to meet the needs of students needing to develop organizational skills and academic support. Our basic program uses an online organizer to help students track assignments, improve their follow through, and develop communication skills which will help them to self-advocate in school and other community settings. Students needing accommodations, or who prefer to use other systems to achieve their goals, can use other systems to develop positive organizational structures for themselves. Students attend 1:1 sessions 1-2 times a week, and receive daily support via phone or Skype. Monique communicates directly with teachers, offers ongoing parent support to assist their teens, and can collaborate with other professionals and support families to develop 504 plans, as needed.
Academic Life Coaching
Academic Life Coaching is a 10-week coaching program which focuses on the skills needed for academic and life success. As a certified Academic Life Coach, Monique empowers students to learn about their own learning styles and practice with exercises to understand how they best learn in school, and the best organization skills for their personalities. Throughout the 10-week session, students gain more confidence and self-awareness as they take sustainable steps towards their personal goals, identifying and changing limiting perspectives and learning to align their values with action. Towards the end of the program, students learn personal leadership and powerful communication skills to step up into leadership roles in their own peer groups, classrooms, families and communities. This program is ideal for youth ages 12-20. Coaching is available in person or online.
Group coaching for teens is available for teens only, teens and parents, or students preparing for middle school.
