Instructors
Annette Beevis received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Oboe Performance, from the University of Central Missouri. She recently moved to the Portland area from Kansas and is currently a private music instructor for piano, voice and guitar. Annette enjoys working with kids and has taught at gymnastics, cheer, and private music lessons to kids and adults. Annette is excited about teaching the All Around This World curriculum and is enjoying learning about the world cultures for each session.
John Wandschneider is originally from Eastern Washington and has lived in Portland off and on for the last ten years. In the off years, he has been abroad studying in Dakar, Senegal; teaching English to young French students in Annecy in the foothills of the Alps in Eastern France; and traveling to Italy, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Mali, Guatemala and other countries in the Caribbean. He has been working in after school programs in Portland for the past five years and sharing his love of music with children in Kindergarden through grade five. John has been playing the guitar for 10 years and composes his own music. He is excited to explore music genres from around the world with your children.
Mark Gerolami is an accomplished performer who has toured the world extensively for the U.S. State Department with his progressive bluegrass band “The Student Loan”, performing, giving master classes, and engaging with musicians around the globe. As an educator he has taught extensively in both public and private settings for more then a decade with students of all ages. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and a Master of Music in Ethnomusicology from Bowling Green State University.
We will miss instructors Dawn, Daniel, Gregory, Jesse and Sam. We wish them the best of luck as they move on to teach and study out of state and out of the country!
